Check out the Class Expectations below.
I am excited to have you in my class this year! This is going to be a great year, but it will also be a challenging year. Calculus requires you to remember all of your algebra and trigonometry skills from the last three years of your high school career. So I hope you did your review packet over the summer!
Are you self motivated? I hope so, because this class requires you to take the lead on the learning. My goal is to prepare you for college so you will find the structure of this class to be different from your previous math classes. You are in charge of asking questions, telling me what you don't understand, and setting the tone for the class. Homework is key to beginning successful, but you will find it is not collected daily. However, don't fall behind! Quizzes may (will) include homework problems. If you haven't don't your homework, you won't be able to get these points! I will also give you in class exercises (ICE sheets) to help you fine tune your skills. I want you to exceed!!! I am here to help so never be afraid to ask questions. |
It is very important for you to be proactive in learning the material in calculus. I will not be handing everything too you. You will even be asked to help explain problems on the board so be prepared!
Because I want you to take the lead on your own learning I want to make sure you have all the tools you need to succeed. You will all be given a t TI-94 silver plus calculator to use this year. These are brand new colored calculators! Yea! But please take care of them! |
