ZAP -Important!!!

As a member of this class you are still a part of the ZAP program. Remember, the goal of this program is to help you succeed. I expect a lot more from you this semester. You will have to take more responsibility for learning the material. Coming to class having left problems blank is not acceptable this semester. You must TRY every problem.

In order to get through this class and pass the ECA (End of Course Assessment) test that is required for graduation ,you must do your homework everyday. I promise it does help!

If you do not turn in your homework you will be "ZAPPED" meaning you will have to report to the ZAP study hall during your lunch to finish your assignment.  For this first nine weeks, full credit will be given for assignments completed during ZAP.

Failure to report to ZAP is considered a disregard for the rules and the office will be notified. Check out the Zap Agreement that must be signed below.

Tips for Success

This is probably the most important math class you will take in high school because it is the building block for all other courses. You can do this! If you give me 100% effort I know you will succeed. I am here to help you. Take advantages of the resources available to you.

  • Tuesday after school help - 3:00-3:30
  • ZAP Lunch Study Halls - Didn't understand something in class? See me and I will get you a pass to get extra help during lunch.
  • Textbook Website - Check out the videos that go with each lesson in your book I have had many students say these are very helpful. The link is in the upper corner in each lesson. Look for the www.go.hrw.com link on the "exercise" page of each lesson.
  • Thursday CRANE Tutors - 3:00-4:00 in Counseling
